How to Use the Wordle Helper
- Enter green letters. Put confirmed letters in their exact spots in the pattern field, e.g. A__E_.
- Enter yellow letters. List letters that are in the word in “Yellow letters”, and use the position fields to rule out spots you already tried.
- Enter gray letters. List ruled-out letters in “Gray letters”.
- Find words. Select Find Wordle Words to see the remaining possibilities, sorted alphabetically.
What Do Green, Yellow, and Gray Letters Mean?
Green means the letter is correct and in the right spot — use the pattern field.
Yellow means the letter is in the word but in the wrong spot — use the include field and the position fields.
Gray means the letter is not in the word — use the exclude field.
How This Wordle Helper Filters Words
The helper searches only five-letter words. Green letters must match their exact positions. Yellow (included) letters must appear somewhere, and the position fields prevent them from sitting in spots you have ruled out. Gray (excluded) letters are removed — unless the same letter is also green or yellow, which happens with doubled letters; in that case the confirmed copy is kept. After filtering, the remaining words are listed alphabetically.
Tips for Better Wordle Guesses
Open with common letters
Starting words rich in vowels and common consonants reveal more clues early.
Spend a guess to test letters
If you are stuck, a guess that tries several new letters can rule out more than chasing one near-match.
Mind doubled letters
A letter can be both present and grayed when it appears twice — the helper handles this for you.

No. It narrows the possibilities; the final guess is yours. The broad English word list may include obscure words and may not match the official answer list. Word Puzzle Solver is not affiliated with Wordle or The New York Times. See the dictionary and word list page.
